Computer engineers and programmers didn't want to work at GM. They wanted to work for Tesla or Google.
But GM needs these skills to help design the next generation of of cars. (Self driving electric cars anyone?) How do you convince these people that GM is a modern and tech-forward company when your recruitment site looks like it was designed in the 90’s? (which it was.)
You start by redesigning the recruitment site. It really is a modern place to work. (No, really. I saw it, It was like Star Trek.) We decided authenticity was the best policy and refreshed the look and the language to focus on the place and the people. All photos are real employees, smiling real smiles. No stock images were used. We focused on featuring the culture and inclusiveness of GM and highlighted GM’s Canadian innovation centers along with the buzz worthy stuff they do there.
